Ruth | Far and Away (week 1)

January 19, 2025

Have you ever made a decision that seemed right in the moment, but left you feeling farther from God and more empty than ever? In the first message of our new series through the book of Ruth, we explore how a story that starts with famine, loss, and compromise becomes a powerful reminder that God is still working—even in our emptiness.

Using the backdrop of the time of the Judges, we follow Naomi, Elimelech, and their family as they leave Bethlehem for Moab—an enemy land. But as life falls apart, Ruth emerges as a symbol of loyalty and faith. In one of Scripture’s most beautiful conversion moments, Ruth clings not only to Naomi but to Yahweh, the one true God.

In this message, we’re reminded:

👉🏼You can make a mess of your life in 5 verses… but God can redeem it in 1.
👉🏼Even when we feel empty, we’re not abandoned.
👉🏼No matter how far you've wandered, you can always come home.

Join us as we learn what it means to return to the House of Bread—and how this story ultimately points us to Jesus, the Bread of Life.
