From Chaos to Creation | Genesis 1:3–25 | Week 2
  • Where did we come from?
  • Why are we here?
  • What went wrong?
  • Where is God taking the world?

These are the questions behind every origin story.

In Week 2 of our Origin Story series, we walk through Genesis 1:3–25 and discover a powerful truth:

God speaks into chaos and creates something good.

Creation doesn’t begin with tools.
It begins with God’s voice.

In this message, we see that:

• Creation reveals God’s voice — chaos listens when God speaks.
• Creation reveals God’s order — God forms and fills what was formless and empty.
• Creation reveals God’s power — from galaxies to grains of dust, everything exists because He said so.
• Creation reveals your value — you are not random, forgotten, or accidental. You were created on purpose, for a purpose.

Genesis isn’t trying to answer every scientific question. It’s answering a deeper one:

What is God like?

And the answer is clear:
He is Creator.
He brings order from chaos.
He speaks light into darkness.
And He still does today.

If your life feels chaotic right now, this message is for you.

Series Resources

These books, sermons and podcasts have been helpful in diving deeper into Genesis 1-3, especially the creation account. These resources provide support for several of the interpretations of the creation account. While I do not fully endorse or subscribe to all that is contained in these resources, I have found them to be valuable in gaining insight into the various perspectives shared by faithful Christians. We will add to these resources as we go throughout the series.
